British ambassador hosts reception for HALO in Bogota

British Embassy Reception for HALO Trust's 25th Anniversary in Bogota, Colombia

The British Ambassador Lindsay Croisdale-Appleby and his wife Barbara, hosted a reception at his Residence in Bogota for the HALO Trust to recognise our 25th Anniversary and to celebrate the start of HALO’s demining operations in Antioquia department, Colombia.

In his speech, the Ambassador welcomed the start of demining as an important part of the peace process in Colombia. Guy Willoughby HALO CEO, Grant Salisbury HALO Programme Manager and Daniel Avila PAICMA’s Director (Programa Presidencial para la Accion Integral contra Minas Antipersonal) also introduced HALO’s programmes and the need for large scale clearance operations across the country.

The evening was attended by around 170 guests from Bogota’s diplomatic and Governmental community, HALO presented our 25th Anniversary photographic exhibition which is travelling around the capital cities where HALO operates.  The exhibition consists of 15 panels showing the work of the organisation around the globe and the benefits it brings to peace and prosperity of communities.
