HALO has developed a range of tools to assist its WAD teams in their work. HALO now uses tele-handlers, medium wheeled loaders, truck mounted cranes, conveyors and elevators.
The use of mechanical handling equipment leads to enhanced productivity and has allowed HALO to load and unload thousands of truckloads of ammunition. The use of mechanical excavators allows HALO to access ammunition quickly which is of obvious benefits in hostile environments, and, since all of HALO’s excavators are fully armoured, they allow for increased operator safety.
