Adam Jasinski, Executive Director, The HALO Trust USA

Adam Jasinski

Executive Director

Adam joined the HALO Trust in 2008, and since then has worked on operations in Sri Lanka, Cambodia, Myanmar, Georgia, Afghanistan and Mozambique, most recently setting up HALO demining operations in Eastern Ukraine. Before joining HALO, Adam worked as a journalist at the British Broadcasting Corporation. He studied at the School of Oriental and African Studies in London and Tbilisi State University. In 2016, he took up post as Executive Director of HALO USA.

Kirsten Stevens HALO Trust

Kristen Stevens

Government Affairs Officer

Kristen joined HALO in May 2017, where she supports policy advocacy efforts. She earned a master’s degree in public administration at American University, specializing in international affairs, after studying political science at her undergraduate institution, Willamette University. Previously, Kristen served as an instructor at Western Washington University where she taught argumentation courses and also coached their parliamentary debate team.

Deon Nelson

Government Affairs Officer

Deon joined HALO in 2015 and has worked in Cambodia, Laos, and Somalia. He moved to HALO USA in January 2018 to assist with government relations and grant management while also completing his PhD at Catholic University on the use of political violence within civil societies. He has his BA from The Citadel and his MA from the University of Virginia. Deon loves baseball and is a dedicated fan of the Houston Astros.

Amasia Zargarian

Grants and Development Manager

Amasia spent two years as HALO’s regional program officer for the Caucasus, based mainly in Nagorno Karabakh, and has also visited HALO programs in the West Bank and Somaliland. He joined HALO USA in late 2018 to assist with management of grants and private fundraising. A Tehran-born Angeleno and avid soccer fan, Amasia is a graduate of Stanford University, where he received his BA and MA degrees.
