In Syria an entire generation has been born into a landscape littered with unexploded bombs and landmines. Children especially are suffering life-altering injuries and even death just trying to get to school or play with their friends.
Children like seven-year-old Nadima. One day Nadima found a strange object near her family home and began playing with it. It was an abandoned hand grenade. She pulled out the pin and was killed instantly.
HALO is working tirelessly with our local partners in Syria to deliver life-saving risk education and clear these explosive hazards for good, preventing more tragedies like the one that ended Nadima’s life. But there are still more people to reach. Donate today to help us keep Syria's children safe.
"It is typically the most vulnerable who are at the greatest risk; those attempting to rebuild their lives or returning home after conflict, where food is in short supply and medical services are often limited.Too many communities remain shackled in a cycle of poverty and fear. But it doesn’t need to be this way. "
