HALO UK 2015 Limited was set up in 2015 as a trading entity for the purpose of a partnership with Clarks. Clarks: Rebooted is an artist initiative and global collection celebrating 65 years of the original and iconic Clarks Desert Boot and its contribution to British street style.
Clarks: Rebooted gathers the talent of 14 leading British and UK-based artists and designers from a broad range of creative disciplines to create a one-off art piece freely reinterpreting this iconic footwear as well as design a Clarks Desert Boot which will be sold as a limited edition of 250 units, available online from Spring 2015.
Clarks will pay 5% of the RRP of each pair which equates to £10 per pair, to The HALO Trust (registered charity: 1001813). Clarks’ creative team and Curator Filippo Tattoni-Marcozzi worked with each artist and designer (Marc Quinn, Lee Broom, Frank Bowling, Rene Gonzalez and Amy Stephens are among those taking part) on the design concept for the limited edition shoes and the unique one-off Art pieces.
Artists were asked to consider the work of The HALO Trust in creating their designs. A customized installation of each limited edition shoe and unique work will tour key art and design events around the world.
The exhibition launched at Design Shanghai (March 2015) and moved on to the Salone del Mobile in Milan (April 2015), Frieze New York (May 2015) and then citizenM Hotel Bankside for the period between the London Design Festival (September 2015) and Frieze London (October 2015).
In partnership with Paddle8, the Clarks: Rebooted tour culminated with a special fundraising auction event in London, with proceeds donated for the benefit of The HALO Trust.
