In 2017 it is 50 years exactly since the last pilgrims were able to visit the churches at Qaser al-Yahud, the baptism site of Christ and one of the Holy Land’s most important Christian locations.
In 2016 we secured permission from the Israeli and Palestinian authorities, and eight Christian denominations, to clear 2,600 landmines and an unknown number of booby-traps from the churches, monasteries and contaminated land at the site. The mines were laid during the Six-Day War in 1967.
If you want to support the clearance of the Baptism Site, please visit our donation page.
We now have a dedicated website for visitors in the USA. Would you like us to take you there?
