On the 27th September 2019, Prince Harry made a historic visit to the site where his mother walked through a minefield 22 years ago in Huambo, Angola. Today the former minefield is a thriving community. He also visited a HALO minefield in southern Angola to learn more about our groundbreaking project to protect the Okavango. With the support of the Angolan government we are clearing the landmines that surround the headwaters of the Okavango Delta so that conservation measures can be introduced to protect this precious habitat.

"It has been quite emotional retracing my mother’s steps… to see the transformation that has taken place, from an unsafe and desolate place into a vibrant community.”
