Nagorno Karabakh is haunted by the presence of landmines and explosives. A quarter of accident victims are children.
Last year, 10-year-old Armen and his younger brother were playing with a pile of rocks outside their home. Suddenly there was a huge bang. His mother ran outside and found him covered in rubble. He had accidentally hit an explosive, hidden amongst the rocks. Armen was rushed to hospital with injuries to his chest. Luckily none of his injuries were life-threatening, but the accident has left both boys deeply traumatised.
