From landmines to new life

This spring, you can bring new life to communities affected by armed conflict.

Around the world, land that should be full of life is too dangerous to step foot on. Landmines and other explosive devices – lethal remains of war and conflict – hide beneath the soil.

Because of these dangers:

  • Families displaced by war cannot return home safely after conflict ends.

  • Children cannot run and play outside.

  • Farmers cannot safely tend their fields, keeping them from feeding communities.

But this spring, you can be part of removing these dangers for good. You can bring revival to communities in Ukraine, Syria, and beyond.

HALO removes these threats. Where danger once hid in the soil, new life can take root.

You make these journeys possible

For families like Patrick's in Sri Lanka, who were twice displaced by civil war, landmine clearance helped them thrive after finding a new place to call home.

“We can now go to the forest to collect timber, fruits, and firewood, and work by the lake without fear. Mine clearance has given us back our safety and dignity.”

Around the world, families just like his still wait for the day they can live in true safety – the day they can put down roots. You can be part of bringing that day closer.

Story

In the mountains of Valle del Cauca, a community has been impacted by years of violent conflict. Families were displaced and lives were lost. Once the fighting stopped, HALO teams were able to come in and work with the community members to help rebuild their lives and their hope for the future.
