Donors' rights

To ensure that donors of The HALO Trust (USA), Inc. have confidence in our organization and its appeals for funds, the following donors' rights are recognized:

  • To be treated professionally and with respect at all times

  • To trust that The HALO Trust (USA), Inc. has used your donation towards the purpose for which it was given

  • To receive appropriate thanks and recognition

  • To have the right to remain anonymous to the extent allowed by law

  • To have access to the organization's financial statements

  • To know that complaints will be taken seriously and handled promptly

  • To know whether an individual soliciting funds is a volunteer, an employee or hired solicitor

  • To request that your name not be exchanged for fundraising purposes or choose to be excluded from any future solicitations

  • To be informed of the organization's mission, how it will use donated resources, and its capacity to use them effectively for intended purposes

  • To know the identity of the governing board of The HALO Trust (USA), Inc. and expect it to exercise prudent stewardship

  • To ask questions about donations and to receive prompt, truthful, and forthright answers

  • To have the right to opt out of mailing lists that may be shared
