HALO on ITV News
In brief
John Irvine, Senior International Correspondent, travelled to Jesus' Baptism site to file an exclusive report for ITV News.
In the land around the eight churches at the site of the Baptism of Christ on the West Bank of the River Jordan, you can still see the lines of anti-tank mines, laid over 50 years ago during the Six Day War. Look closely, and the tailfins of mortar bombs, protruding from the sand, are also evident.
But all this is about to change.
As HALO began work to clear the mines from the Baptism site, John Irvine, Senior International Correspondent for ITV News, travelled to this sacred place to file an exclusive report.
