Barefoot and carrying a simple jerry can of water, Ugubos roams through the Angolan hills to find pasture and water for his cows. It’s a potentially lethal journey because the land is mined. One unlucky step could trigger a landmine, killing Ugubos or inflicting life-changing injuries.
Our work to clear landmines saves lives. Donate to HALO today, to keep children like Ugubos safe.
"It is typically the most vulnerable who are at the greatest risk; those attempting to rebuild their lives or returning home after conflict, where food is in short supply and medical services are often limited.Too many communities remain shackled in a cycle of poverty and fear. But it doesn’t need to be this way. "
