The HALO Trust has been working in Afghanistan for the past 30 years, part of the world’s largest landmine removal programme. We have cleared fields, cities and mountain valleys of the explosive debris left behind by decades of conflict. About 80% of this landmine legacy has now been cleared, but renewed fighting in recent years means there is still much work to be done. PBS sent their special correspondent, Jennifer Glasse, to report on the lifesaving work that is being carried out by HALO and other organisations to make Afghanistan safe.
